Direct Residence:
Section 26, regulation 33 of the Immigration
Act:

apply for permanent residence as they have
been the holder of a work permit for five
years and have received an offer for permanent
employment
2. Applicants wishing to
apply for permanent residence as they have
been married to a South African Citizen
/ permanent residence for 5 years or longer.
Residence on other grounds:
Section 27, regulation 33 of the Immigration
Act:
1. Applicants wishing to
apply for Permanent Residence as they have
extraordinary skills or qualifications.
2. Applicants wishing to apply for Permanent
Residence as they intend establishing a
business in the Republic of South Africa.
3. Applicants wishing to apply for Permanent
Residence as they have provided certification
by a chartered accountant that they have
a prescribed minimum net worth and have
paid the prescribed amount to the Department.
4. Applicants wishing to apply for Permanent
Residence as they have provided certification

5. Applicants wishing to apply for Permanent
Residence as they are a relative of a citizen
